Learn the basics of letterpress in this 6-hour class. Learn to set metal type in a composing stick properly, tie up your form and print a proof. From there we show you how to make corrections, kern or track your type, then lock it in a chase or on press for printing. Learn a proper make ready and then print a small edition to take home and share with friends.
Projects that can be made in this class, small broadside, 5x7 or smaller, greeting cards, bookmarks, calling cards, postcards, and other small ephemera.
Class runs from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm on days listed in drop down when purchasing, at our studio at 1115 E. Main Street, Suite 246, Rochester, NY.
Things you need for class, sketch paper/book, imagination, an idea of what you'd like to make.
Supplied: type, paper, and ink.
Specialty papers are available for an extra charge.
